In Pakistan only two institutes are providing online education & Custom E Learning and that is Virtual University and Allama Iqbal Open University. Although the later can be more clearly describes as distance learning university. But virtual university which started in 2001 has become very popular in merely seven years. The university already had four different channels which can be accessed through satellite dish and even on cable TV. The university offers courses on business education and computer education and provides online community where students can consult about a course subject and relating problems.
MIT one of the most recognized and reputable university in world is offering more than 1800 courses online and you can access them whenever you want. The plus point is they are providing each course for free and the only downside is they don’t provide a certificate . The Chicago university is also providing online education although for now they are only providing course on professional psychology and some short courses on IT. Virginia College online (sister college of Virginia University) also provides online education. In England the Liverpool university also provides online courses.
The best advantage of online education is you can do it part time along with your job and a female who is mother of new born or mother/housewife in general also can get benefit from this facility You don’t have to leave the premises of your house and get the education as you desire. Now in the end it won’t be good if I don’t mention some of the disadvantages of online education. The most obvious one is that you can’t get immediate answer to you question, now days universities are providing call system too but even they are not as good as being in front of lecturer. Also marketing people and practicing lawyer require a great deal of knowledge on how to speak and interact with people and this can’t be possible without proper training by your teacher. However given its disadvantages the advantages of online education are far more and this is why this form of learning is growing rapidly.

If you are a student and want to improve your communication skills then you have to participate in some programs where you can perform as a debater or presentator . As from the current demand by the private firms , you should have excellent presentation skills , whenever you will go you will be first asked for the presentation skills . If you are an extra genious guy but you lack presentation skills then you can’t win in life . The world demands some professionalism and the professionalism comes from the way of talking , the speaking skills , the caliber , the way to impress or inspire someone , the way to attract someone to your ideas , that are the things which worth - Being as a student of engineering I know well that what is the importance of the education and what are the importance of the extra carricular activities which normally book worm guys neglect . I just want to say that you should participate in the activities which can bring some boldness to your character . I don’t say that you give all of your time to extra things and don’t study but I want to say that you should bring some balance between everything and thats the way by which you can make some difference !!
